As the founder and director of Disposable Medical Supplies (DMS), I know that creating a business from an initial idea to a fully integrated e-commerce company is not an easy or quick journey. However, it is an exciting and fulfilling one that can allow you to shape and lead your own life.
I built DMS around the lifestyle and principles that were most important to me. This was to work independently from any location on a laptop, preferably poolside with a drink! If I was starting a business from scratch, why not create it so that the business model was perfect for me?
My advice to women starting out in business is to follow your passion and to use your skills and technology to your advantage. Surround yourself with a talented support network and never give up on your dream. It is possible to achieve financial independence on your terms while having quality time with family and friends.
Start – it’s okay if everything is not perfect.
Setbacks happen – learn and grow from them.
